- Launched in 2024, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Hall of Fame continues to grow
- Marc Duez, Thierry Tassin, Audi, and Pirelli named as latest inductees
- 77th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa to get underway at 16:30on Saturday 28 June
The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Hall of Fame was launched as part of last year’s centenary edition to celebrate the event’s incredible history. Its inaugural inductees were Paul Frère (who instigated the race's revival in 1964), five-time winner Éric van de Poele, the Martin family (which counts seven wins between Jean-Michel, Philippe, and Maxime), BMW (which has scored a record 25 wins), and the RACB, which created the race in 1924. The Hall of Fame will expand this year, with four new names added to the roll of honour.
Marc Duez, who holds the record for participations (33), has won the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa on three occasions. He is also one of four drivers to have triumphed in touring cars (1997 and 1998) and during the GT era (2001). In total, the Ardennes ace stood on the podium no fewer than seven times.
At the close of the last century, four-time winner Thierry Tassin shared the record for victories with Jean-Michel Martin. While this was surpassed in 2008 by Éric van de Poele, he remains the joint record holder for the number of podium finishes (8). Following the conclusion of his racing career, Tassin moved to the other side of the pit wall, playing a key role in Team WRT’s 2014 win as sporting director.
Since its first participation in 1972, Audi has made a significant contribution to the history of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. This was already the case during the touring car era, with class victories for the Audi 80 GT and Audi Coupé (in the seventies and eighties), the Audi V8 quattro (which qualified second overall in 1991), and the Audi 80 quattro (fourth in 1995). After scoring its first overall podium in 2009, the debut for the R8 LMS, the event's transition to GT3 machinery allowed Audi to come to the fore.
Between 2011 and 2017, the German brand won the world's biggest GT race no fewer than four times. Its consistency has been nothing short of remarkable: in the 14 editions since 2011, no fewer than 14 Audi crews have stood on the overall podium; what’s more, there have been just three years (2019, 2022 and 2024) in which an R8 LMS GT3 missed out on the top three.
Finally, Pirelli has become inextricably linked with the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The sole tyre supplier to the event since 2013, the Italian manufacturer has been present for more than 40 years. Its debut came in 1981, since when Pirelli has equipped no fewer than 21 winners. In 2025, the Italian brand introduced its new DHG tyre, which is more environmentally friendly and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
These two legendary drivers, the brand with four rings, and the event’s tyre supplier were recognised before the drivers' briefing on Wednesday 25 June, staged in the Petit Théâtre du Casino de Spa. Before embarking upon its 77th edition, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa took the opportunity to connect with its rich history, which began back in 1924.
