Nissan GT Academy Team RJN
Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3
In 2008 a young Spaniard called Lucas Ordonez won a competition - the Nissan PlayStation GT Academy - that took talented gamers and turned them into racing drivers. In 2013 Lucas added the Blancpain Pro-Am Driver’s trophy to his two Le Mans 24 Hours trophies. Nissan’s revolutionary driver discovery and development programme has gone from strength to strength and now with GT Academy competitions taking place all over the globe the company has a pool of winners from which to choose the ‘NISMO Athletes’.
In 2014 four new NISMO Athletes join the 2013 Pro-Am Team Champions, Nissan GT Academy Team RJN, to compete in the Blancpain Endurance Series. Miguel Faisca (POR), Florian Strauss (GER), Nick McMillen (USA) and Stanislav Aksenov (RUS) enter their first season as racing drivers, facing tough competition from the world of GT3 racing. Racing with the four newest GT Academy graduates in the formidable 3.8 V6 twin-turbo powered Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s will be Katsumasa Chiyo (JAP) who joins from the NISMO Global Driver Exchange Programme and Alex Buncombe (GB), who has raced with all of the graduates since 2008.
