Thai racing squad TP12 Singha Motorsport will enter a Ferrari 488 GT3 in the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, with the support of championship winning squad Kessel Racing. Drivers of the yellow and blue Ferrari will be Carlo Van Dam and Piti Bhirom Bhakdi.
The collaboration between TP12 Singha Motorsport and Kessel Racing is not new. The successful Swiss squad supported the Thai based team during the recent Motul Sepang 12 Hours, final round of the 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge. This afternoon, during a well-attended press conference in Bangkok, both parties announced they will extend their partnership during this year’s Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup.
Kessel Racing is obviously not new to the Blancpain GT Series, claiming the 2016 overall Pro-Am title, together with the Endurance Cup Am and Pro-Am titles and the Sprint Cup Pro-Am title. The know-how of the Swiss squad will certainly be useful to the TP12 Singha Motorsport team and drivers, for their experience with the Blancpain GT Series is limited to Van Dam’s single participation in the 2009 Total 24 Hours of Spa.
