Rosenqvist tops timing sheets, #7 Bentley out

With drivers getting to grips with the Barcelona track, the second free practice session of the final round of the 2016 Blancpain GT Series proved to be less eventful than the opening session earlier this morning. Only 32 cars participated in the final preparations before the qualifying session later this afternoon (15.30 local time), for the #7 Team M-Sport Bentley was withdrawn after it suffered major damage in this morning’s free practice session.
The #1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT did not get out the garage, having its engine changed.

Fastest time was set by Felix Rosenqvist in the  #88 AKKA-ASP MercedesAMG GT3, lapping the Circuit de Catalunya in 1’47.329, two tenths quicker than Markus Winkelhock in the #6 Phoenix Racing Audi. Morgan Moullin-Traffort, another AKKA-ASP driver, was fastest of the Pro-Am drivers, with Stéphane Lemeret getting his Am Cup Ferrari in the top-10 overall.

Qualifying in Barcelona starts at 15.30 local time and will be streamed live on our website.
