Julian Westwood and Ian Loggie start season finale as leaders in the Am Cup

In our second part on the title candidates for the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series, we speak to Julian Westwood, together with team-mate Ian Loggie joint leader in the Am Cup. They enjoy a five-point lead over their nearest rivals.

"We have had an amazing year so far - winning the Total 24 Hours of Spa in our class and being 14th overall was a fabulous achievement for us,” Westwood smiles. “If the season had ended after that race, I would have been very content. But the fact that it gave us the championship lead going into the final round is an added bonus. This is only Team Parker's, Ian Loggie's and my second season in the biggest GT3 championship in the world, and to finish 3rd last year with the prospect of winning this year is like a dream come true.”

“Currently I do not have a seat for next season, so to win the championship at the Nürburgring hopefully would help my position for 2016 - so for me personally it's of extra importance that we do the right job. As ever the Ferrari of Mastronardi will be our main rival, but the Schmickler Porsche has been getting faster and faster so we have to keep an eye on them too - we need to make sure we are ahead of them on track when the chequered flag drops. Tactics?

A win will always give us the championship result we need!"
