Free Practice 1: Aka quickest for Tresor Attempto in tight opening session at Zandvoort

Tresor Attempto Racing led the way in Free Practice 1 at Zandvoort thanks to a 1m34.458s lap from Alex Aka.

The #99 Audi – which is entered in the Gold Cup class – was 0.133s quicker than Thierry Vermeulen, who in turn edged his Emil Frey Racing teammate Matteo Cairoli by 0.001s. The Ferrari squad is a Zandvoort specialist and looks to be firmly in the fight again this year.

Marvin Kirchhöfer was fourth quickest in the #59 Garage 59 McLaren, followed by a quartet of Porsches. The impressive Simon Birch (#914 Razoon - more than racing) set an identical time to series debutant Flynt Schuring (#89 Lionspeed GP), who was marginally quicker than title contender Bastian Buus (#80 Lionspeed GP) and Riccardo Pera (#9 Pure Rxcing).

Schuring capped an excellent first session by pacing the Silver Cup class, with Pera his closest challenger in FP1. The #66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi was third in Silver and P11 overall.

Bronze Cup bragging rights went to the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari of the returning Dustin Blattner, who placed 19th overall for the Swiss squad. The #88 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi was second in class (P23 overall), completing an excellent FP1 for the team, followed by the #93 Ziggo Sport Tempesta Racing Porsche (P25 overall).

Cars will be back on-track at 13:50 local time for another 80-minute Free Practice session.
