Series debutant Constantin Dressler led the way in Friday afternoon's Bronze Test at the Nürburgring. The German driver, who is standing in for Dustin Blattner aboard the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari, posted a best time of 1m55.174s.
Dressler was half a second clear for much of the one-hour session, though Charles Dawson (#222 2Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG) closed the gap considerably during the last 10 minutes. The British GT champion, who claimed Bronze Cup honours at this event last year, was 0.059s back when the chequered flag flew.
Rinat Salikhov finished third fastest in the #87 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG, followed by Darren Leung in the #991 Paradine Competition BMW and Gabriel Rindone in the #12 GetSpeed Team Dubai Mercedes-AMG. All 13 eligible cars participated in the Bronze Test.
A few hours earlier, more than 50 cars were on-track for a two-hour group test. Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed led the way thanks to Fabian Schiller, who was at the controls for a 1m55.550s tour of the GP-Strecke circuit.
James Kellett was second fastest in the #991 Paradine Competition BMW. The Brit's best time was just 0.019s shy of Schiller's benchmark and put the Paradine entry on top of the Bronze Cup class.
Third overall – and P1 in Gold – went to the #10 Boutsen VDS Porsche of Nico Menzel, who makes his first appearance for the team this weekend. The Swiss driver was only 0.009s off Kellett. The best Silver car was the #6 Team GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG driven by Aurélien Panis.
