Season-closing race at Portimão to run on Saturday evening

GT World Challenge powered by AWS will stage its season-closing race at Portimão on the evening of Saturday 17 October as part of a revised schedule for the Portuguese event.

Originally slated to run during the afternoon of Sunday 18 October, the three-hour race has been moved to accommodate the rearranged FIA World Endurance Championship round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will now take place on the same weekend.

GT World Challenge will run its Qualifying session at 17:55 on Friday, with the closing Endurance Cup race of 2026 getting underway at 17:00 on Saturday. By making this change, it is hoped that teams, drivers and other personnel affected by the clash will be able to participate in both events.

The revised schedule also includes alterations to the race times for the weekend's three support categories: the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, GT4 European Series, and McLaren Trophy Europe. The event will still feature four races on Sunday, including both GT2 Europe contests.
