Christopher Haase put his Eastalent Racing Audi on top in Free Practice 2 at Misano, topping a session that began shortly before sunset and ended in darkness.
Audi expert Haase posted a 1m32.347s to lead the way for the rookie Eastalent squad. Aurélien Panis was second fastest in the GetSpeed Team Bartone Bros Mercedes-AMG, a shade under four tenths off Haase's benchmark. The Frenchman also put his team on top in the Silver Cup class, three spots ahead of its closest rival.
Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing was third quickest thanks to super sub Jules Gounon, who is standing in for the unwell Chris Lulham. Augusto Farfus was fourth fastest and best of the Bronze Cup cars aboard the #991 Paradine Competition BMW.
Fifth went to the second of the Silver Cup cars, the #66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi, followed by the second of the Bronze Cup cars, the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari. Tommaso Mosca again paced the Gold Cup by placing seventh overall in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari. The top 10 was completed by the #80 Lionspeed GP Porsche; the #50 AF Corse Ferrari; and the #59 Garage 59 McLaren.
This session, like the earlier FP1, was not interrupted by any red flags. It was staged at roughly the same time that tomorrow's opening race will run, giving teams valuable data. Live coverage on the GT World YouTube channels begins tomorrow with Qualifying 1 at 13:05, followed by Race 1 at 20:30.
