FP2: Leclerc fastest for Ferrari as AF Corse continues to dominate

Ferrari continues to dominate the build-up to the 2026 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The Italian marque remained on top in Free Practice 2 as Arthur Leclerc hit the front in the #50 AF Corse entry.

The sister #51 Ferrari had led the way in Tuesday's pre-event test and this morning's Free Practice 1. In the afternoon run, Leclerc set a time of 2m18.169s to edge the #17 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed machine of Fabian Schiller by 0.141s. Though the #51 Ferrari was toppled from the head of the order it did not fall far, with Nicklas Nielsen placing third in FP2.

Salman Omega was fourth overall in the #5 Optimum Motorsport McLaren to keep the British squad at the top of the Silver Cup classification. Earlier, it was Guilherme Oliveira that put the same car on top in FP1. Fifth overall went to another rapid Ferrari as Selected Car Racing continued its strong form and retained its place at the head of the Gold Cup order with Malte Ebdrup at the controls.

Three of the leading contenders were next in FP2, with the #48 Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter followed by the #59 Garage 59 McLaren and the #80 Lionspeed GP Porsche.

Bronze Cup honours went to Marvin Dienst, who was 10th overall in the #87 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG, while youngster Benjamin Paque put the same manufacturer on top in Pro-Am, placing 14th overall in the #999 GetSpeed Team PCX entry.

The session saw two small incidents. Early on, the #42 Oman Racing by Century Motorsport BMW spun into the gravel at Double Gauche but was able to return to the circuit under its own power. A few minutes later, the #28 Haas RT Audi made light contact with the barriers at Bruxelles, seemingly with help from the #8 Car Collection Porsche.

The next track session is Qualifying, which kicks off at 19:45 and streams live on the GT World YouTube channel.
