Lionspeed GP triumphed in the second of this weekend's Sprint Cup races at Brands Hatch, bouncing back from the disappointment of missing out in the opening contest.
The #80 Porsche dominated Race 1 from pole only to be forced into retirement by a steering issues. It repeated the first part of that story in Race 2, but this time the car ran without problems and took a deserved lights-to-flag win. Bastian Buus controlled the opening stint before handing over to Ricardo Feller who completed the job.
The #3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing entry of Dani Juncadella and Chris Lulham finished second, 3.073s behind the winner. This crew also suffered heartbreak in Race 1, taking the chequered flag in first place only to be penalised for a yellow flag infringement. While it wasn't quite the result they wanted, a P2 will still provide some solace.
Winward Racing completed the podium with its #48 Mercedes-AMG pairing of Maro Engel and Lucas Auer. Engel made a fast start to jump from fourth to third and the car held station until the finish. The #48 was handed a five-second penalty for a pit infringement, but had enough time in hand over P4 to retain its podium finish.

The #46 Team WRT BMW was fourth, followed by the #59 Garage 59 McLaren. These two cars swapped places at the start as Marvin Kirchhöfer charged past Max Hesse. However a remarkable 39.4-second pit stop allowed Valentino Rossi to jump back in front of Dean MacDonald.
The McLaren was followed by three more Team WRT BMWs, with the #32 beating the #31 and #30. The latter took Silver Cup victory thanks Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro sharing the wheel. The #14 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari was ninth, with the #555 CSA Racing McLaren of Simon Gachet and Romain Andriolo completing the top 10 and claiming Gold Cup victory.
The Endurance Cup takes centre stage over the next few months. First up teams will travel to the Belgian Ardennes for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue (19-20 May) and then to Italy for the second Endurance race at Monza (29-31 May). Then it's the big one – the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa – which runs on 24–28 June. The next Sprint Cup round takes place at Misano on 17-19 July.
