PRE-QUALIFYING: Goethe fastest in Garage 59 McLaren ahead of decisive Sunday

Benjamin Goethe was quickest in Pre-Qualifying at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, posting a 1m40.870s at the wheel of the #59 Garage 59 McLaren.

The 60-minute run represented the final non-competitive session of the 2025 campaign, with only Qualifying and the deciding three-hour Endurance Cup race to follow on Sunday.

Goethe was 0.267s faster than Bastian Buus, who showed excellent speed in the #888 UNX Racing Porsche. The Dane led the Bronze Cup, though he was immediately followed by class rival Dennis Marschall in the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari.

Louis Prette was P4 overall and fastest among the Gold Cup runners, backing up Goethe's strong showing, with Fabian Schiller (#17 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed) completing the top five.

The #52 AF Corse Francorchamps Motors Ferrari was sixth, followed by the #911 Pure Rxcing Porsche, the #48 Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter, the #81 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG and the #93 Ziggo Sport Tempesta Ferrari.

Five of the overall top 10 were Bronze Cup cars, with four Pros and one Gold. The best of the Silver Cup runners was the #54 Dinamic GT Porsche of Mikkel Pedersen, who placed 14th overall. There were no stoppages during the session, though the #15 BMW Italia Ceccato Racing M4 ground to a halt on-track just as the chequered flag was shown, requiring assistance to return to the pits.

Qualifying gets underway at 10:25 on Sunday morning and can be watched live on the GT World YouTube channel.
