ROAL Motorsport announces driver crew for second BMW Z4 GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series
After announcing the entry of two 2014-spec BMW Z4 GT3s for Alex Zanardi and for the crew of Cerruti-Comandini-Amos in the Endurance races, Italian team ROAL Motorsport will enter a third 2014-spec BMW Z4 GT3 in the 2014 Blancpain GT Series.

The car will be driven by Italian drivers Stefano Colombo, 23, and David Fumanelli, 21, who will compete for the Silver Cup in the Blancpain Sprint Series. Stefano Colombo faces his third season with the BMZ Z4 GT3 ROAL Motorsport. He won the 2012 Italian GT Championship and finished runner-up last year. David Fumanelli will be in action at the wheel of a GT car for the first time. He drove a GP3 singleseater during the last two years.

Stefano Colombo (driver): “I am very proud that, for the third year in a row, Roberto Ravaglia gives me the opportunity to compete at a high level. This year our target is to achieve success in the class for under 25’s. I will have to learn some circuits that I do not know yet, but that does not scare me. I think I can adapt myself quickly to new situations. I know the BMW Z4 GT3 very well by now and I know that the team is top level as well. My new team-mate David Fumanelli is younger than me and he has a singleseater background. We have the right ingredients in place to be successful. Another important aspect is the presence of Alex Zanardi in our team. He will be our competitor, but first and foremost he will be our reference. And what a reference!”

David Fumanelli (driver): “I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with a professional team like ROAL Motorsport. The Blancpain Sprint Series is a world-class series with many talented drivers. It will be a fierce challenge. I am aware that I will have to learn many things and adapt my driving style to the BMW Z4 GT3. But I’m confident that will happen, because I am part of a very competitive squad and I will have an experienced and fast team mate in Stefano Colombo. In addition, I will be able to work with a very special person, Alessandro Zanardi. From him I will learn a lot, I am sure. I consider this season as an important step in my evolution as a driver.”
