FREE PRACTICE: Zandvoort master Feller puts Lionspeed Porsche on top

Ricardo Feller gave Lionspeed GP a perfect start to its 2025 Sprint Cup campaign by leading this morning's Free Practice session at Zandvoort.

Driving the #80 Porsche, the Swiss ace posted a 1m32.622s with a little over 20 minutes remaining to hit the top of the timing screens. This was 0.145s better than Alex Aka aboard the #99 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi, with the #9 Boutsen VDS Mercedes-AMG of Luca Stolz a further 0.125s in arrears.

It should be no surprise that Feller is fast at Zandvoort: he earned his maiden series win at the track in 2021 and swept the board last time GT World Challenge visited in 2023. The latter event saw him crowned overall Sprint Cup champion alongside Mattia Drudi; this weekend, he will chase Bronze Cup honours alongside Gabriel Rindone.

The order at the the conclusion of the 100-minute session was anything but familiar. The #80 Porsche was the first of six Bronze Cup cars in the overall top 10, joined by just two Pro cars and one each from the Gold Cup and Silver Cup classes. The #99 Audi was the leading Silver, while the best of the Gold runners was the #777 AlManar Racing by WRT BMW (below) in 10th spot.

As for the Pros, Stolz was comfortably the fastest in P3 overall, while Henrique Chaves placed ninth aboard the #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin. Brands Hatch winners Winward Racing (#48 Mercedes-AMG) and AF Corse - Francorchamps Motors (#51 Ferrari) were 15th and 19th respectively.

All 41 cars entered in this weekend's event managed to turn laps during Free Practice, which ran without a red flag stoppage. Less than a second separated the fastest 20 cars, while three seconds covered the entire field.

Track action resumes at 15:10 CEST with a one-hour Pre-Qualifying session. Saturday brings Qualifying 1 (10:00) and Race 1 (15:00), with the same format repeated on Sunday at 09:00 and 14:45. As of tomorrow, all sessions will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel
