Pure Rxcing begins 2023 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa on top as #911 Porsche leads Bronze Test

Pure Rxcing led the way in this afternoon's Bronze Test with its #911 Porsche to officially launch the 2023 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Aliaksandr Malykhin left it late to post a 2m17.851s lap and beat the #3 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG by 0.329s. The #38 ST Racing with Rinaldi Ferrari was third, followed by the #20 Huber Motorsport Porsche and the #75 Sun Energy1 Mercedes-AMG.

All 32 eligible cars took part in the session, with 22 Bronze Cup entrants joined by 10 from the Pro-Am class. There were three red flag stoppages, caused by the #78 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini, the #89 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG and the #62 Team Parker Racing Porsche respectively. However, in each case, the delay was not especially long.

Attention shifts away from the circuit tomorrow as the parade from the track to Spa city centre takes centre stage. The full 70-car field will set off at 18:00, followed at 18:30 by an autograph session. As ever, the parade is completely free to attend.

The next track activity will take place on a packed Thursday, which consists of Practice, Pre-Qualifying, Night Practice and Qualifying. The latter sets grid positions 21 through 70, while Friday afternoon's Super Pole shootout will establish the first 10 rows and decide this year's pole-sitter.

With the preparations complete all focus will shift to the biggest GT race in the world, the 75th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which gets underway at 16:30 on Saturday 1 July and conclude at the same time on Sunday.

As ever, the race will enjoy extensive live coverage via a host of online options, with commentary available in English, German, French and Italian via the GT World YouTube channel and on the event's official website.
