Saintéloc Racing confirms driver line-ups for 2022 programme with Audi

Saintéloc Racing has confirmed the driver line-ups for its two-car assault on this year's Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS.

One of the longest-serving teams on the grid, Saintéloc will once again field Audi machinery this term, with a pair of cars set to contest the full 10-round championship. In the Endurance Cup, the familiar #25 machine will feature an all-new Pro crew of Chris Mies, Patric Niederhauser and Lucas Légeret.

Though not previously part of a full-season effort for Saintéloc, Niederhauser drove for the squad at last year's TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa while Légeret joined for a pair of Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli outings. Mies needs little introduction, having competed with a host of leading Audi GT3 squads racing for more than a decade.

The sister #26 car will see Aurélien Panis, Nicolas Baert and César Gazeau contest the Silver class in the Endurance Cup. Panis returns to the team having joined in 2021, while his crew-mates step up from TCR and GT4 competition respectively.

In the Sprint Cup, Niederhauser and Panis will share the #25 car while Baert will be partnered in the #26 by Gilles Magnus. The latter also moves over from touring cars having driven for Audi in a number of international series.

"In our history, we have often had the desire to help young drivers to progress, and this will clearly be our philosophy with our 2022 crews, especially in the Silver Cup," said team boss Sébastien Chetail.

"Some of the drivers will be competing for a second year with us and in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 and we hope that they will take the next step in their careers. We can always count on the support of Audi Sport, with official drivers who will be able to support our young talent and hopefully make our colours shine."

The Saintéloc cars are currently on-track at Circuit Paul Ricard for the first morning of pre-season testing. Running continues throughout Monday and resumes again on Tuesday.
