Madpanda Motorsport returns for Endurance assault, targets Silver Cup title glory

Madpanda Motorsport will return to Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS this season with a single-car effort in the Endurance Cup.

Founded in 2020 by experienced international racer Ezequiel Perez Companc, the Mercedes-AMG squad earned the combined Silver Cup teams' and drivers' titles in its maiden campaign, while last year brought a commanding class win at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa. It also won the inaugural Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series Silver championship thanks to an overall win for Juuso Puhakka at the season-ending Barcelona event.

Though yet to settle on its line-up, Madpanda has confirmed that it will remain in the Silver Cup for another attempt on the five-round Endurance championship in 2022. Several potential drivers remain under consideration, with a final decision set to be made before the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS test days at Circuit Paul Ricard (7/8 March).

"Last year we proved that we are as strong in endurance racing as we are in sprint racing," said team boss Perez Companc. "We won the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa in the Silver class and ran in the top 10 for most of the race. In 2022, one of our objectives is to win this Silver championship."

Madpanda is also set to open a merchandise e-shop, strengthening its reputation as one of the most fan-focussed teams in the paddock.

"We are really looking forward to opening it as soon as possible," said Perez Companc. "We know our fans have been really looking forward to having merchandise from the team since the beginning. It's been difficult with the pandemic, but now everything is starting to open a little bit more, which brings good news. It's a great time to start it, and we are making sure to have some cool stuff available in it!"

Madpanda Motorsport will join the rest of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS contenders during the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard. The Endurance Cup campaign kicks off at Imola on 1-3 April before visiting Circuit Paul Ricard (3-5 June), the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa (28-31 July), Hockenheim (2-4 September) and Barcelona (30 September-2 October).
