Leipert Motorsport confirms Endurance Cup return with Lamborghini

More than 10 years after making its debut in the series, Leipert Motorsport will return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup with the support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The experienced team from Wegberg in Germany will rely on Brendon Leitch and Dennis Fetzer in its Silver Cup entry, with a third driver to be announced shortly.

Leipert's revived GT3 programme is intended to give aspiring drivers the opportunity to take the next logical step after competing in Lamborghini Super Trofeo or GT4. That is the case for Fetzer, who contested last year's GT4 European Series before making a strong Lamborghini debut in the 24 Hours of Sebring. Leitch has been part of the Leipert team since 2019 and will enter his second season of GT3 competition at the wheel of a Lamborghini.

A third full-season driver is set to be announced shortly. Meanwhile, the team has already confirmed that Max Weering will join the trio at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa. Last year the Dutchman finished as runner-up in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and is an integral part of the Squadra Corse family.

Quotes managing directors and team managers Marcel Leipert and Marc Poos:

"We are really looking forward to the new challenge in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. We have a strong squad in place and, combined with the planned test programme, we are very well prepared. Competing in the Endurance Cup is the logical step for us as a team to also open the way for drivers from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo to enter GT3 racing. We rely – as we have for many years – on the excellent cooperation with Lamborghini Squadra Corse and, after a great debut year with the GT3, we are delighted to be represented in Europe's greatest GT series."

The team will be on-track at the official Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS test days, which take place at Circuit Paul Ricard on 7-8 March. The Endurance Cup campaign kicks off at Imola on 1-3 April before visiting Circuit Paul Ricard (3-5 June), the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa (28-31 July), Hockenheim (2-4 September) and Barcelona (30 September-2 October).
