KCMG Porsche leads after dark in Total 24 Hours of Spa Night Practice

Kevin Estre put the #47 KCMG Porsche on top in Night Practice ahead of this weekend's Total 24 Hours of Spa with a best time of 2m22.370s.

The Frenchman and teammates Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen have switched to the KCMG squad to defend their 2019 victory in the Ardennes. Having already secured a place in tomorrow's Super Pole, they produced a statement of intent by leading the 90-minute after-dark session.

Maro Engel was second in the #4 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT machine, followed by local favourites Laurens Vanthoor (#98 ROWE Porsche) and Maxime Martin (#188 Garage 59 Aston Martin). The latter was also the best of the Pro-Am entrants.

Frederik Schandorff led the Silver Cup contingent, placing ninth overall in the #78 Barwell Lamborghini. The fastest among the Am Cup runners was Marco Seefried (#918 Herberth Porsche) in 43rd spot overall.

Night Practice came shortly after Qualifying, which saw the #31 Audi Sport Team WRT crew lead 20 cars into Super Pole. Earlier in the evening, Frikadelli Racing confirmed a change to the line-up of its #22 Porsche. Jörg Bergmeister will replace Timo Bernhard, who was unable to secure his negative COVID-19 result in time for the event.

Tomorrow's action is focused on Super Pole, which will establish the first 10 rows of the grid for this year's Total 24 Hours of Spa. Live coverage will begin with a 30-minute warm-up at 17.30 CEST, followed by the shootout from 18.20. All of the action will air on the Total 24 Hours of Spa website, the event's official Facebook page and the GT World YouTube channel.
