A pair of cutting-edge GT3 machines will go on display at the upcoming Brussels Motor Show (19-27 January) as part of the long-standing collaboration between the Total 24 Hours of Spa and Belgian national television broadcaster RTBF.
The display will recognise the media partnership that has seen RTBF air extensive coverage of the Total 24 Hours of Spa over many years, placing Belgium’s biggest endurance race at centre stage in its home nation.
Taking place across eight days at Brussels Expo, the Brussels Motor Show is among the oldest of its kind in the world and features stands from a host of industry-leading automotive brands. The RTBF display will be located in Hall 6 and will include a Honda NSX GT3 Evo and a Boutsen Ginion Racing BMW M6 GT3.
The Honda machine represents the latest instalment from the Japanese manufacturer’s GT programme and heralded the brand’s much-anticipated return to the Total 24 Hours of Spa in 2018. Indeed, such was the significance of its appearance that the car was given a central position on the official event poster. The Brussels Motor Show will represent the European public debut for the 2019-spec NSX.
The BMW M6 GT3 is also of significance. The same model claimed victory at the Total 24 Hours of Spa in 2016 and 2018, extending the Bavarian marque’s record number of wins at the event.
As well as getting a closer look at the cars, visitors to the RTBF stand can enter a competition to win tickets for the 2019 Total 24 Hours of Spa. With the grand prize consisting of a VIP weekend for 2 persons to the marquee event of the Blancpain GT Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge, this unique opportunity is not to be missed.
The Brussels Motor Show will be open to the public between Saturday 19 and Sunday 27 January. This will be preceded on Friday 18 January by a press and VIP day, which also features the event’s opening ceremony.
The 2019 running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa will begin in earnest on Wednesday 24 July with the annual parade to Spa town centre. This is followed by practice and qualifying on Thursday and Friday (July 25/26), with the race playing out across Saturday and Sunday (July 27/28).
