Walkinshaw returns to Team RJN to boost Total 24 Hours of Spa assault
Sean Walkinshaw returns to the RJN Motorsport’s Silver Cup line up in the #22 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 at the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Walkinshaw will join fellow Brits Struan Moore, Jordan Witt and Mexican Ricardo Sanchez in the GT Sport Motul Team RJN entry.

Walkinshaw has driven with the team previously, contesting the entire 2016 Blancpain GT Series with Team RJN, including the Total 24 Hours of Spa 24. In addition, Walkinshaw will again partner up with Ricardo Sanchez, with who he shared the 2016 GT-R in the sprint rounds.

"We're thrilled to have Sean back with us for Spa," said RJN boss Bob Neville. "He impressed us in 2016 when he ran the full season in Blancpain, and I think he'll be a good fit with the guys in the Silver Cup car currently. "The entire series is so competitive, and you never can predict just where you'll end up at the end of any 24-hour race, so we're cautiously optimistic about our results.

"We've got a great car from Nissan and a great driver lineup with Sean, Ricardo, Jordan and Struan, in addition to the excellent #23 team, so hopefully we can bring home a good result with both."

GT Sport Motul Team RJN’s Pro #23 entry will again feature Brits Alex Buncombe and Matt Parry along with Spanish former GT Academy winner, Lucas Ordóñez. The trio head to Spa after finishing fifth in the most recent Blancpain round at Paul Ricard.

Since the finish of the 2016 Blancpain season, Walkinshaw has been racing in Super GT in Japan.

"I'm excited to return to the Spa 24 Hour and especially to do it with Nissan and GT Sport Motul Team RJN," Walkinshaw said. "They've put together a great program this year, and have already scored a podium and top five in just three races. "I think our chances are good, but Spa is such a difficult track that you never know what can happen."

Walkinshaw will get behind the wheel of the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 on Tuesday at the Spa test before tackling the Spa 24 Hour with the team on July 28-29.
