The hot conditions at Brands Hatch did not deter the teams and drivers to make the most of the final hour of free practice to get their cars fine-tuned for this evening's qualifying session. At the start of the session, Mirko Bortolotti in the #63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini topped the time sheets, but by setting a 1'24.242 with some 25 minutes to go, Dutch youngster Jules Szymkowiak put the #86 HTP Motorsport Mercedes-AMG in front again, just like this morning.
After a short red flag interruption - for two cars spinning off in the final corner - the last five minutes of the session were used to get one final belter in. In the end Christopher Mies in the #33 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT R8 beat everybody, by clocking a 1'24.178.
There were a whopping 22 cars lapping in the same second, with the #87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG again fastest in Pro-Am and the #5 Phoenix Racing Audi quickest of the Silver Cup cars.
Qualifying at Brands Hatch starts at 5 pm local time and will be streamed live on the official website and via the app.
