Maxi Buhk sets the tone for the rest of the weekend

By taking pole position for this afternoon's qualifying race, Maxi Buhk (#84 Bentley Team HTP) set the tone for the deciding weekend in the 2015 Blancpain Sprint Series. That pole position reduces Buhk's deficit to series leader Robin Frijns by one point, making it seven points. Frijns, now sharing the #1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT car with Christopher Mies, had to settle for second position on the starting grid, just edging in front of his team-mate Nicki Thiim. The Dane, making his Blancpain Sprint Series debut, will share the second row of this afternoon's starting grid with the #333 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari of Norbert Siedler. The Austrian, still in the running for the drivers' title as well, will have local specialist Jeroen Bleekemolen as his team-mate this weekend.

Another Dutchman, Indy Dontje, proved to be the quickest of the Pro-Am drivers, confirming the good form of the GT Russian Mercedes in Zandvoort, with Marko Asmer in the other car of the team making it to Q3 for the first time this season. The Estonian will start from the fourth row.

In Silver Cup Jules Szymkowiak had an excellent start to the qualifying session, setting the second time in Q1. Unfortunately, team-mate Max Van Splunteren went off track during Q2, damaging the #83 Bentley. The car still had the fastest time in the Silver Cup, but due to the penalty incurred in Misano, the Dutch duo will start from last.

Zandvoort's Qualifying Race starts at 14:15 this afternoon and will be live streamed.
