And then there were three

Five hours to go in the 2015 Total 24 Hours of Spa and three cars on the lap fighting for the overall win.

Pro Cup

A shock retirement for the #45 BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS with 5h 41mins left in the 67th running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, meant the end for Dirk Werner, Augusto Farfus, and Maxime Martin who leading on the 400th lap of the race. The #45 car suffered a suspected transmission breakdown when downshifting for Bruxelles. The German ace managed to keep the BMW out of the guard rails but it did not go any further.

The leader’s retirement meant that the #2 Audi Sport Team WRT reclaimed the lead ahead of the second BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS car. The #46 car in the hands of Nick Catsburg was quick to close the gap and took the lead from Stefan Ortelli only fifteen minutes after the retirement of the sister car. With the #99 Rowe Racing Mercedes only twelve seconds behind Catsburg, there is still everything to play for in this exciting edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Pro-Am Cup

Due to the retirement of the #46 BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS, the #47 AF Corse Ferrari moved up to fifth place overall and enjoys a healthy lead over the #51 AF Corse Ferrari. Both are being chased by the #79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW, now a firm in third in class and eighth overall.

Am Cup

Even though the top-3 cars in the Am Cup are now closer together in the overall rankings, the #24 Team Parker Racing Audi has increased its lead to five laps. The second placed #111 Kessel Ferrari and third placed #10 Akka ASP Ferrari are only separated by a quarter of a minute.
