2015 Blancpain GT Series calendar promises even more thrilling race action

The inaugural Blancpain GT Series having come to an exciting and successful conclusion with the Baku World Challenge this weekend, the SRO Motorsports Group has released the complete 2015 Blancpain GT Series calendar. With new and exciting locations for the Blancpain Sprint Series and the introduction of prize money for the Blancpain Endurance Series, 2015 looks set to be another exciting season for the biggest GT series on the motorsports planet.

2015 Blancpain Sprint Series with races in Moscow and Misano

The second season of the Blancpain Sprint Series continues to build on the success of the inaugural edition. With races on the Moscow city centre streets and at the Italian track of Misano – which will also host the official pre-season test days – the calendar looks more exciting than ever. Just as this year, the Blancpain Sprint Series season will start at Nogaro, with the grand finale being the Baku World Challenge.

Fifth season of Blancpain Endurance Series sees introduction of significant prize money

To encourage the teams to participate in all 12 races of the Blancpain GT Series, the prize fund for the season will be increased considerably, with 100.000 euros per round of both the Sprint and Endurance Series. Teams that enter the complete Blancpain GT Series are eligible for the full prize money, with 50% being paid to teams entered only in the Sprint or Endurance Series.

This brings the total of the SRO Prize Fund to 1.3 million euros, in addition to the event support starting fees of 1.45 million euros for the Moscow and Baku events, bringing the total support to the Blancpain GT Series teams to an unprecedented total of 2.75 million euros (plus air freight for the Baku World Challenge).

The 2015 calendar of the Blancpain Endurance Series that was presented during the Total 24 Hours of Spa is confirmed with one slight alteration, namely the Paul Ricard 1000 being advanced by one week.
