Century Motorsport has revealed full details of its 2024 Fanatec GT Europe programme, which will see the BMW squad make its series debut with a full-season Bronze Cup entry.
The team has retained the 2023 British GT title-winning duo of Darren Leung and Dan Harper for its Sprint assault. The former is set for his first full campaign, while the latter has impressed during the past two Endurance seasons with leading BMW outfit ROWE Racing. Harper will continue with the German squad alongside his Century duties this term.
Leung will contest the Endurance events for Century with two new teammates. Toby Sowery joins as the squad's mandatory Silver-graded driver, bringing considerable single-seater experience from Indy Lights and several sports car outings. Indeed, Sowery made a single Fanatec GT Europe appearance in 2018 at the wheel of a Lamborghini.
The final place on the Century crew goes to Jake Dennis, who returns to Fanatec GT Europe for the first time since 2021. The reigning FIA Formula E world champion made a strong impression in the series between 2017 and 2019, notably as part of the R-Motorsport Aston Martin squad.
With different teammates in Sprint and Endurance, the onus will be on Leung to lead the team's championship aspirations in what promises to be an extremely competitive Bronze Cup class.
"My objectives are clear-cut and purposeful," said the reigning British GT champion. "Firstly, I aim to narrow the performance gap to my experienced teammates, using their expertise as a benchmark for my development.
"Secondly, it’s about capitalising on the results available to us through strong teamwork, not focusing on uncontrollables and maximising every opportunity available to us."
Dennis, meanwhile, is excited to make his return to Fanatec GT Europe.
"It’s always great to continue in GT3 racing with BMW and to be racing with the British GT champions, I’m confident we can fight for class wins. Fanatec GT Europe has some of the best GT teams and drivers out there so it will be a good challenge for us. Testing has been positive so far so I think we can go into the first race at Circuit Paul Ricard with high confidence."
Century Motorsport will be part of a Bronze Cup class featuring around 20 cars when the season kicks off next weekend. The three-hour race gets underway at 15:00 CEST on Sunday 7 April.
