Boutsen VDS finalises 2024 Fanatec GT Europe plans with second Pro car for Endurance

Boutsen VDS has completed its 2024 line-up by naming Maxi Götz, Thomas Drouet and Adam Christodoulou as the drivers of its #9 Mercedes-AMG in the Endurance Cup.

The Belgian squad recently announced Götz and fellow factory driver Jules Gounon as its Sprint Cup pairing in the #9 machine. In the sister #10, which is entered in the Silver class, Aurélien Panis and Cesar Gazeau will contest the full campaign with Roee Meyuhas joining at Endurance events.

Gounon had already been announced at fellow Mercedes-AMG squad GetSpeed for the Endurance campaign, leaving Boutsen VDS with two vacancies to fill alongside Götz in its flagship entry. It has settled on two experienced Fanatec GT Europe drivers, both of whom know the AMG GT3 well.

Drouet is set for his second season in the Pro category following a 2023 programme with Akkodis ASP. The Frenchman previously won the FFSA Championat de France GT Pro-Am title with the same team in 2021. He continues his partnership with Götz, who also drove for Akkodis ASP last year.

British ace Christodoulou made his Fanatec GT Europe debut in 2011 and has returned for regular appearances since, often in partial programmes or as a one-off at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. A long-time Mercedes-AMG factory driver, he has raced the German marque's machinery across the globe.

The #9 Boutsen VDS line-up completes a trio of Pro class Mercedes-AMG cars for Endurance alongside entries from GetSpeed and Winward Racing. They will launch the 2024 season at Circuit Paul Ricard, which stages the opening three-hour race on 5–7 April.
