Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed will field a trio of factory drivers in this season's Endurance Cup, with two-time series champion Jules Gounon joining the returning and Luca Stolz.
The German squad has now filled its roster for 2024, having already announced its plans for the Gold Cup and Silver Cup classes. The Pro-class #2 Mercedes-AMG will join them, competing for outright honours with a heavyweight line-up.
Gounon needs little in the way of an introduction. A Mercedes-AMG factory driver since 2021, he won the previous two Endurance titles with Akkodis ASP. The French-Andorran's stacked C.V. also includes two outright victories at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and three at the REPCO Bathurst 12 Hour.
This is Gounon's second Fanatec GT Europe programme for the season ahead, both of which have been announced in the past 24 hours. He will also run the Sprint races for Boutsen VDS, giving him a shot at becoming the first-ever driver to win the overall series title while driving for two different teams.
Stolz is also a past Endurance Cup champion having sealed the crown in 2018. The German has been an ever-present in the series since 2017, representing Grasser Racing, Black Falcon, HRT and, for the previous two seasons, GetSpeed.
Schiller also remains in situ after delivering a strong 2023 campaign, his first full-time opportunity in the Pro class. His Fanatec GT Europe career stretches back to 2017, when he captured the Sprint Cup title in the Silver class.
“With two second places at Circuit Paul Ricard and at the Nürburgring, as well as a fourth position at the finale in Barcelona, we have demonstrated strong performance," said Adam Osieka, GetSpeed’s CEO and team principal. "With the experienced driver trio Fabian, Jules, and Luca, we are aiming for the title in 2024.”
With its crews confirmed, GetSpeed will now head to the Fanatec GT Europe Prologue, which runs next week at Circuit Paul Ricard (5/6 March). The 2024 Endurance Cup campaign opens with a three-hour contest at the same venue on 5–7 April.
