Line-ups confirmed ahead of 2021 TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa

With the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa now just one month away (29 July-1 August), several squads have confirmed their line-ups for the this year's edition of the Belgian endurance classic.

Porsche has committed significant firepower as it goes in search of a third straight win at the marquee event. In the one-off Rutronik Racing entry, Kevin Estre and Richard Lietz are set to share for a third year in succession with as many different teams. They will target a repeat of their 2019 win alongside Sven Müller, a podium finisher last year.

The third member of the 2019-winning crew was Michael Christensen. This year the Dane forms part of an impressive two-car effort from Frikadelli Racing, partnering Thomas Preining and Julien Andlauer. The sister Porsche will be driven by another accomplished trio: Fred Makowiecki, Patrick Pilet and Dennis Olsen. Estimates suggest that Porsche could be represented by as many as eight Pro cars this year.

Leading Mercedes-AMG squad AKKA ASP has confirmed a third car to join its full-season Pro and Silver Cup efforts. The #89 machine will compete for overall honours and sees established AKKA drivers Timur Boguslavskiy and Felipe Fraga joined by Mercedes-AMG ace Lucas Auer.

Madpanda Motorsport has also completed its Silver Cup crew. Full-season drivers Ezequiel Perez Companc and Rik Breukers are joined by Spa veteran Ricardo Sanchez and Finnish ace Patrick Kujala, the latter a past Am Cup winner with experience of multiple marques.

In the Audi camp, Saintéloc Racing has confirmed that its #26 car will be driven by Finlay Hutchison, Adrien Tambay and Jamie Green. The sister #25 looks set to run under the Audi Sport Team Saintéloc Racing banner, while an additional entry will compete for Silver Cup honours.

Orange1 FFF Racing has added local star Bertrand Baguette to its Pro-Am crew. The Belgian ace, who hails from nearby Verviers, will tackle Spa in the #19 Lamborghini alongside regulars Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Phil Keen. A further bronze-graded driver will need to join their line-up to meet class regulations.

Japanese racer Yuki Nemoto is set for his TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa debut, having announced that he will contest the event with VS Racing. The Italian squad was present for last week's test days where it ran with Silver Cup decals on its Lamborghini. Finally, Pro-Am outfit Boutsen Ginion has confirmed the identity of its fourth driver, with Yann Zimmer set to make his first 24-hour race outing in the team's BMW. The Swiss was at last week's test days to gain crucial experience of the M6 GT3.

Further news and announcements regarding this year's TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, including the final entry list, are set to follow during the days and weeks ahead, building up to the start of the iconic twice-around-the clock race on 31 July.
