- Name reflects new ambitions and identity of long-standing partner and title sponsor TotalEnergies
- New logo revealed for TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa ahead of 73rd running
- Further announcements regarding 2021 event coming soon
The world's biggest and most competitive GT3 race has become the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa ahead of its much-anticipated 2021 edition (29 July-1 August).
The new name and visual identity embody the ethos of TotalEnergies, a multi-energy company committed to producing and providing energy that is clean, affordable and readily available. First joining as a partner at the end of the nineties, TotalEnergies remained committed to the event through the switch to GT rules in 2001 and stepped up to the role of title sponsor in 2007. It has since become synonymous with the twice-around-the-clock classic, both as a committed partner and as supplier of the high-performance fuels used by all competitors.
The new visual identity is already visible in the new TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa logo and will be seen in a variety of forms during this year's event. A highly competitive field is expected to tackle the 2021 edition, which acts as the marquee race of both Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS and Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli.
Preparations will step up a gear later this month at the official TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa test days (22-23 June), where competitors will undertake two days of crucial running at the 7km circuit. The event timetable and official poster can also be expected in the coming weeks.
What's more, SRO Motorsports Group continues to work closely with local authorities and Circuit Spa-Francorchamps to assess the viability of allowing fans to be present at this year's event. SRO remains committed to welcoming the public in a safe manner and further announcements will be made in due course.
This year's TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa will see the celebrated race return to its traditional summer slot following last year’s one-off autumn running and marks two decades since the first GT edition was staged in 2001.
