Iron Lynx to field two-car Ferrari assault on Endurance Cup

Italian squad Iron Lynx will field pair of Ferrari 488 GT3s in this season's Endurance Cup, both featuring leading factory talent from the Maranello brand.

It follows a glittering 2020 campaign for the marque, which captured the overall drivers' and teams' titles in the Endurance Cup thanks to AF Corse and scooped significant Pro-Am silverware with Sky Tempesta Racing.

Alessandro Pier Guidi will defend his drivers' crown as part of the #51 Iron Lynx crew. The Italian will be joined by young Danish ace Nicklas Nielsen, who ran three Endurance rounds in 2020. The line-up is completed by accomplished French racer Come Ledogar, who helped Pier Guidi to capture last year's title with a sensational victory at Circuit Paul Ricard.

The sister #71 machine features a blend of youth and experience. The latter comes courtesy of Davide Rigon, a multiple race winner who will contest his seventh full season in the Endurance Cup.

He will be joined by a pair of young talents. Antonio Fuoco made an outstanding debut last year at Circuit Paul Ricard and now gets a full-season opportunity in the series. The #71 crew will be completed by Callum Ilot, who finished as FIA Formula 2 runner-up in 2020 and combines his GT World Challenge Europe programme with a Ferrari F1 testing role.

In particular, both Iron Lynx crews will be determined to capture Ferrari's first overall win at the Total 24 Hours of Spa since 2004. The team's co-founder, Andrea Piccini, contested 14 editions of the marquee race and claimed victory at the event in 2012.

The 2021 season will officially launch with two days of testing at Circuit Paul Ricard (25/26 March), followed by the opening race at Monza on 16-18 April.
