Audi Sport reveals 2021 driver line-up

Audi Sport has confirmed its roster of customer racing drivers for the 2021 season.

The German marque's line-up is largely unchanged and includes a number of longstanding GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS competitors. The likes of Christopher Haase, Markus Winkelhock and Christopher Mies have become synonymous with the series over the past decade, while the younger generation of Dries Vanthoor and Kelvin van der Linde are also firmly established.

Audi came within striking distance of Total 24 Hours of Spa victory in 2020 thanks to the Audi Sport Team Attempto crew of Mattia Drudi, Frederic Vervisch and Patric Niederhauser. All three remain part of the line-up for this year when they will seek to give the brand its first win in the Ardennes since 2017.

There are two new additions to the Audi squad for the coming season. Charles Weerts joins after clinching the 2020 Sprint Cup title with Belgian Audi Club Team WRT. The 19-year-old partnered fellow countryman Vanthoor on his way to the crown, becoming the youngest ever GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS champion in the process.

Dennis Marschall has also stepped up to the Audi customer racing programme for 2021. The 24-year-old German was a late addition to the brand's line-up at last year's Total 24 Hours of Spa. What's more, Audi has reaffirmed its commitment to Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli for the 2021 campaign.

Several of Audi Sport's chosen drivers will be regulars in GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS this term, while the majority can be expected to play a role during the marquee event at Spa-Francorchamps. Preparations for the new season are set to begin with the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on 11/12 March.
