Team Profile: ROWE Racing

ROWE Racing has established itself as a Total 24 Hours of Spa specialist in recent years, producing excellent displays at the season's marquee event with three different manufacturers.

Based in Sankt Ingbert, the German squad was founded in 2008 by Michael Zehe and Hans-Peter Naundorf. The following year it began its association with the ROWE motor oil company, a partnership that has endured for more than a decade.

Starting out in the VLN, the team made its Total 24 Hours of Spa debut in 2013 with a Mercedes-Benz SLS. Its first full Endurance Cup campaign followed in 2015 and, in a hint of things to come, its #99 car led overall at six and 12 hours. ROWE drivers Nico Bastian and Stef Dusseldorp ended the season sixth in the Endurance Cup standings, while the team had given notice of its ability to perform at Spa.

In 2106 it switched brands to BMW, which brought the chance to run a full-factory crew of Philipp Eng, Maxime Martin and Alexander Sims at Spa. This crack driver line-up combined with ROWE's expertise to give the squad a memorable victory in the season's marquee race

Two years later ROWE was on the podium again, with Sims combining with fellow BMW men Nicky Catsburg and Jens Klingmann to take runner-up spot. In 2019 the team switched to Porsche machinery and once again finished second at the 24 Hours, confirming ROWE's ability to run at the front with a variety of machinery. Though best known for its endurance racing prowess ROWE also contested the Sprint Cup in 2016 and 2017, scoring three podiums along the way.

In 2020 it fields one full-season Endurance Cup entry and a second at selected events. Both feature a wealth of Porsche talent, including factory drivers Dirk Werner and Simona de Silvestro.
