Team Profile: CMR

Classic and Modern Racing was founded in 2008 by Charles-Antoine "Charly" Bourachot and is based at the Alès-Cévennes technical centre in southern France. While its full name reflects the company's specialism in assembling and maintaining historic and modern machinery, the race team is now best known as CMR.

Bourachot's squad first entered the Endurance Cup in 2015, contesting the Paul Ricard 1000km with a BMW Z4 GT3. A full-season assault on the long-distance championship followed in 2016, this time with a Ferrari 458 Italia.

CMR then switched to GT4 competition with great success. 2017 saw the team capture a Championnat de France FFSA GT title in the Am class, while 2018 ended with overall victory in the GT4 International Cup at the Bahrain International Circuit. In 2019, CMR secured the Championnat de France FFSA GT teams' title and announced plans to return to GT3 competition the following year.

In 2020, the team has partnered with Bentley to launch a full-season assault on GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. Among its varied driver roster, Pierre Alexandre Jean continues a relationship that has already yielded the GT4 International Cup crown and multiple Championnat de France FFSA GT race wins.

In the Endurance Cup, Jean competes in a full-pro crew alongside Bentley factory driver Seb Morris and Romania's Petru Razvan Umbrarescu, while an Am Cup roster features Bernhard Delhez, Romano Ricci and Stephane Tribaudini. CMR operates an all-French Sprint line-up, with factory driver Jules Gounon alongside Nelson Panciatici in the full-pro car and the young pairing of Jean and Hugo Chevalier in a Silver Cup entry.

The team also remains active in the GT4 European Series and Championnat de France FFSA GT, running both Toyota and Alpine machinery. Away from GT competition, CMR has been a regular entrant in the Trophée Andros ice racing series.
