GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS confirms revised Zandvoort timetable

A revised timetable has been revealed for next month's GT World Challenge Europe Powered AWS event at Zandvoort, with a pair of one-hour Sprint Cup races now set to run on Saturday 26 September.

The Dutch meeting represents the fifth round of the season and the third on the Sprint schedule. The compacted nature of the revised 2020 calendar means that it will take place on the same weekend as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, an event that several GT World Challenge Europe Powered AWS competitors are also scheduled to undertake.

The Zandvoort timetable has been redrawn accordingly, beginning on Friday 25 September with practice (09.30 CET), pre-qualifying (13.50) and the deciding qualifying sessions (17.50). All of the racing action will take place on Saturday, beginning at 09.00 with the opening one-hour contest. The second run will go green just a few hours later at 13.45, with the chequered flag falling at 14.45 CET. Drivers will therefore have the option to compete at Zandvoort before travelling to Germany to link up with their crews at the Nordschleife.

While GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS will wrap up early, the Zandvoort event still features a busy final day of activity. The GT4 European Series, Formula Renault Eurocup, Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and FFSA French F4 Championship will all be in action throughout the weekend, with each category scheduled to undertake at least one race on Sunday.
