Team WRT confirms full-season GT World Challenge Europe programme for 2020

Team WRT has confirmed its plans for a full-season assault on GT World Challenge Europe in 2020, extending the Belgian outfit's longstanding presence in the series.

WRT will contest both the Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup schedules this term, remaining loyal to the Audi brand with which it has become synonymous over the past decade. This will include an attack on the marquee Total 24 Hours of Spa, where the squad secured victory in 2011 and 2014.

By signing up for the 2020 campaign, WRT will remain ever-present in both disciplines, with 2020 representing the 10th season of competition for the Endurance Cup.

Competing as Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, the Baudour-based outfit has enjoyed considerable success in the category formerly known as the Blancpain GT Series. WRT clinched six successive teams' titles in the Sprint format between 2013 and 2018 while also taking the drivers' crown in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

It has earned significant silverware in the Endurance Cup, too, with four teams' championships and three drivers' titles. WRT also won back-to-back teams' championships in the combined Blancpain GT Series in 2014-2015 and the drivers' crown in 2014.

The team is yet to confirm which classes it will contest and the drivers that will lead programme. In 2019, Belgian Audi Club Team WRT deployed three full-time cars in the Endurance Cup and four at Sprint events, contending for overall and Silver Cup honours in each.

WRT joins R-Motorsport (Aston Martin) and Emil Frey Racing (Lamborghini) in having officially confirmed full-season efforts for this year's GT World Challenge Europe. They will meet up with their rivals for the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on 12-13 March, followed by the season-opening Endurance Cup event at Monza (17-19 April).
