Centri Porsche Ticino graduates to Fanatec GT Europe with Jacoma / Fontana / Leutwiler

Centri Porsche Ticino will graduate to Fanatec GT Europe this season, fielding the Stuttgart marque's new 911 GT3-R in the Endurance Cup.

The all-Swiss line-up of Ivan Jacoma, Alex Fontana and Niki Leutwiler will tackle the five-round championship in the Pro-Am class. The new programme follows four seasons of GT4 European Series action for the Lugano-based squad, including a run to fourth in the Pro-Am standings last season with Jacoma and Fontana.

Though this will be his first full season in the series, Jacoma has contested two editions of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and made other one-off appearences in Fanatec GT. It is a similar story for Leutwiler, who has raced GT and prototype machinery across the globe, including multiple Fanatec GT Europe outings.

Fontana is the squad's professional driver and comes with considerable Fanatec GT Europe experience, including no fewer than four Silver Cup titles. He finished on the overall podium at Monza in 2021 and scored overall race victories in the Fanatec GT Sprint Cup during the same season.

Centri Porsche Ticino will collaborate with German squad Car Collection for its 2023 programme, the latter switching from Audi machinery after running in partnership with the Tresor outfit last term.

The all-Swiss Porsche crew will be present for next week's official Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS test days at Circuit Paul Ricard (7-8 March). The Endurance Cup campaign launches at Monza on 21-23 April, followed by trips to Circuit Paul Ricard (2–4 June), the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (29 June–2 July), the Nürburgring (28–30 July) and Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya (29 September–1 October).
