Team Profile: Saintéloc Racing

Saintéloc Racing is among the most established teams in the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS paddock. Founded in 2004 by Sébastien Chetail and based in Saint-Étienne, its association with the series stretches back almost 10 years and is closely tied to German brand Audi.

Saintéloc made its Endurance Cup debut in 2012, contesting the Total 24 Hours of Spa and then remaining on the grid for the following events at the Nürburgring and Navarra. It has been part of the series ever since, running every Endurance race since the start of the 2014 season and adding a full-time Sprint Cup programme in 2017.

The team's greatest success to date came that same year, when Audi factory drivers Markus Winkelhock and Christopher Haase were joined by rising star Jules Gounon for the Total 24 Hours of Spa. After falling a lap down early on the team produced an incredible fightback to secure victory in the blue riband race, elevating Saintéloc to the top tier of global GT3 competitors.

The squad has remained ultra-competitive at the Belgian endurance classic, finishing fourth overall in both 2018 and 2019 with Winkelhock and Haase joined by fellow Audi ace Frederic Vervisch. Its Sprint programme has also thrived, with Haase and Simon Gachet scoring a maiden victory at Zandvoort in 2019 and remaining in the overall title fight until the final round.

Saintéloc retains a strong presence in GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS this term, with two cars competing in both the Endurance and Sprint Cup championships. Still led by Sébastien Chetail, its circuit racing programme is overseen by Frédéric Thalamy and also includes a multi-car effort in Championnat de France FFSA GT. Away from the track, Saintéloc also operates a successful rally programme that competes in the Andros Trophy and European Rally Championship.
