Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Formula Renault Eurocup continue as GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS support series

Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Formula Renault Eurocup will continue as key support series for GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS when the 2020 racing season gets underway.

Both long-standing partners have confirmed new dates following the announcement of an eight-event GT World Challenge Europe schedule, which is set to launch at Imola on 25-26 July.

The revised Super Trofeo calendar was announced by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and will feature 10 races staged over five rounds between August and November, all of which will take place alongside GT World Challenge Europe. This extends a working relationship that began in 2011 with the launch of the original Blancpain Endurance Series.

The new Super Trofeo Europe season will kick off on home turf at Misano on 7-9 August before heading to the Nurburgring (5-6 September) and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (9-11 October).

Round four will be part of the support package for the marquee Total 24 Hours of Spa, which is set to run on 22-25 October at the Belgian venue. The Super Trofeo season will then conclude alongside the GT World Challenge Europe finale at Circuit Paul Ricard on 13-15 November.

Formula Renault Eurocup will stage 10 rounds this season, seven of which will take place alongside GT World Challenge Europe. The single-seater category will be present at Imola for the season-opening event and will remain on the support package for the trips to the Nurburgring, Magny-Cours (11-13 September), Zandvoort (25-27 September) and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The series will once again tackle Spa-Francorchamps as part of the 24 Hours, before completing its final GT World Challenge Europe engagement at Circuit Paul Ricard in November.

As well as Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Formula Renault, the GT4 European Series will join the GT World Challenge Europe support package at multiple events this term, racing at Imola, Misano, the Nurburgring, Zandvoort, Spa and Circuit Paul Ricard. Additional support series are also set to make one-off appearances throughout the 2020 season.
