Assetto Corsa Competizione confirmed for official public release on 29 May

The creators of Assetto Corsa Competizione, the official game of the Blancpain GT Series, have confirmed that it will leave Steam Early Access and launch to the public on 29 May.

Developed by KUNOS Simulazioni and published by 505 Games, the new offering will provide players with an unparalleled gaming experience, featuring real-world drivers, teams, cars and circuits, all reproduced to the highest level of accuracy.

Making use of Unreal Engine 4 to ensure spectacular visuals, the game sets new standards in driving realism and immersion, including the introduction of variable weather conditions and night races. Once officially released, it will be available to purchase at a cost of £34.99 ($44.99).

The announcement was made during a press conference today (12 April) at world-renowned Italian circuit Monza, which will stage the first race of the 2019 Blancpain GT Series and the inaugural SRO E-Sport GT Series event.

The latter is a new virtual championship formed in partnership between KUNOS Simulazioni and SRO Motorsports Group, with additional support from Pirelli and AK Informatica. Over the course of the season it will challenge professional and amateur sim racers to prove their abilities using the game, with three winners earning a Lamborghini Squadra Corse driving experience.

The contest will be played out using Assetto Corsa Competizione, with its outstanding level of detail guaranteeing the ideal platform for the sim racing hopefuls.

Commenting on the release date, KUNOS Simulazioni co-founder Marco Massarutto praised the involvement of the gaming community in Assetto Corsa Competizione's ongoing development.
